U.S. Postal Service and Wal-Mart team up for local event

Remembering the troops this holiday season

FREMONT, OH – A “Support the Troops” holiday mailing event will be held Thursday, Oct. 29, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Wal-Mart on State Route 53.

The event also will include the reading of a proclamation by Fremont Mayor Terry M. Overmyer, and the presentation of colors by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Fremont Post 2947 Honor Guard.

Local veterans’ organization representatives and postal officials also will be on hand for the event.

Customers will be encouraged to buy items troops, serving overseas, are in need of while shopping at Wal-Mart. The list is being provided by Heroes in Action.
