Service unaffected during Rego Park Post Office renovation

Rego Park, N.Y. — On July 21, 2008, a three month major renovation project will begin at the Rego Park Post Office at 92-24 Queens Boulevard in Rego Park, New York 11374. During construction, delivery service to the community will remain unaffected with retail operations maintained by a retail post office on site. “Our goal is to provide our customers with a great place to do business and our employees with a positive work environment,” said Flushing Postmaster William Rogers. “We expect to re-open in mid-October,” he added.

As additional information, the three Post Offices that are the closest to the Rego Park Post Office are:

Corona/Elmhurst Post Office
59-01 Junction Blvd

Forest Hills Post Office
106-28 Queens Blvd

Middle Village Post Office
71-35 Metropolitan Avenue

Postmaster Rogers also recommends using some of the quick, easy, and convenient alternate ways to buy stamps and ship packages. The Postmaster emphasizes that you never have to leave your front door in order to do business with the USPS. He explains that a computer is essentially a Post Office right in your own home or business. Services like purchasing stamps, printing mailing labels with or without postage, looking up ZIP Codes, and event scheduling a carrier to pick-up packages at no extra charge are all available on usps.com.

For customers that don’t own a computer, Postmaster Rogers recommends using Stamps by Mail, by Fax, or even telephone at 1-800 STAMP24.

Extensive postal information, including post office and alternate retail access locations, is always available online at usps.com.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation — 146 million homes and businesses. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
