Spring Valley Post Office Offers Special Holocaust Hero Oskar Schindler Station Postmark

Spring Valley, NY — The Spring Valley  Post Office is offering a Holocaust Hero Oskar Schindler Station Postmark pictorial postmark starting Monday, April 28, 2008.

Those who can’t get to the Post Office but who wish to obtain the pictorial postmark may do so by submitting a mail order request. All requests must include a stamped envelope or postcard bearing at least the minimum First-Class Mail postage. Items submitted for postmark may not include postage issued after the date of the requested postmark. Such items will be returned unserviced.

Customers wishing to obtain a postmark should affix stamps to any envelope or postcard of their choice, address the envelope or postcard to themselves or others, insert a card of postcard thickness in envelopes for sturdiness, and tuck in the flap. Place the envelope or postcard in a larger envelope and address it to: PICTORIAL POSTMARK, Holocaust Hero Oskar Schindler Station, Postmaster Spring Valley, NY 10977 no later than May 27.

Customers can also send stamped envelopes and postcards without addresses for postmark, as long as they supply a larger envelope with adequate postage and their return address. After applying the pictorial postmark, the Postal Service returns the items (with or without addresses) under addressed protective cover.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation — 146 million homes and businesses. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
