Background:
Customers looking to comply with the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative for international travel to all countries including Canada, Mexico and the Bahamas may want to apply for a passport book or the new passport card. And several Rochester area Post Offices are trying to make it easy for customers to get them. The upcoming passport events will make it more convenient for families with children under the age of 16 to apply, where both parents need to be present.
The Postal Service recommends that customers visit the passport agency website at www.travel.state.gov to get the list of required documents and a print out of the passport application. A pre-completed passport application expedites the process when the customer gets to the Post Office.
