Special Edition I LOVE NEW YORK Priority Mail Envelope
to Debut at New York State Fair

New York State Tourism Partners With Postal Service for Branded Business Mailing

August 24, 2009 - Empire State Development, which oversees New York State tourism, and the United States Postal Service will debut a special edition of the popular Flat Rate Priority Mail Envelope branded with the legendary I LOVE NEW YORK logo at this year’s New York State Fair.

The Postal Service has approved a special printing of 250,000 Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelopes for free distribution to New York State tourism and business development. Quantities of the free envelopes will also be offered to groups and associations to promote business development and expansion within New York State.

The beloved I LOVE NEW YORK logo – featuring a bright red heart - is the first state logo in the nation to appear on a Priority Mail flat rate envelope.

“We made this exceptional request to secure the I LOVE NEW YORK logo on our Priority Mail envelopes because it is an ideal fit for business-to-business communications in New York,” said the Postal Service’s District Manager for the Albany District, Edward F. Phelan, Jr.

“When your letter carrier delivers this envelope, it is evident that economic development is a priority in New York State. We’re proud to deliver that message.”

I LOVE NEW YORK was pleased to allow its logo to be branded on the localized version of the Flat Rate Priority Mail envelope.

Dennis M. Mullen, Chairman and CEO designate of Empire State Development, said: “The I LOVE NEW YORK logo, an already universal brand, will soon be delivered to homes and businesses all across the world thanks to the U.S. Postal Service. Empire State Development is working hard to encourage economic investment across New York State and our partnership with the USPS will help businesses save on their shipping costs, which is important during these tough economic times. Additionally, our new partnership will work to raise the public’s awareness of the I LOVE NEW YORK brand, reminding them of the rich and abundant vacation opportunities that await them here in New York.”

I LOVE NEW YORK Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelopes will be distributed throughout the State Fair at the I LOVE NEW YORK booth inside the Center of Progress building and also at the Postal Service booth in the International Food Pavilion.
