American Express earns mailing industry honors

New York, NY — American Express, among the nation’s largest credit card companies, was recently recognized by the United States Postal Service at the National Postal Forum in Washington D. C. with the best in class Creative Business Solutions Award. American Express used Direct Mail as the cornerstone of an innovative and successful brand awareness campaign to help achieve their company's business objectives. Since 1967 the National Postal Forum has been the mailing industry’s premier educational venue, trade show and networking event for industry professionals.

American Express’ creative brand awareness campaign quite literally put its product in potential customers’ hands with an instruction booklet on how to create origami with unused checks. For this credit card affinity campaign, the mailpiece promoted easy management of expenses on monthly statements while earning affinity points on routine bill payments for such things as cell phone service, cable service, gym memberships, and magazine subscriptions. American Express’ commitment to use direct mail as a significant component of its marketing campaigns serves as a testament to the value and power of mail.
