Local resident is first Latina to earn top Bronx postal spot
Bronx, NY — USPS New York Metro Area Vice President Steven Forte recently announced the selection of Aracelis Osorio as Postmaster of the Bronx, New York. The Bronx resident is the first Latina to be selected as Postmaster in New York City’s northernmost borough. Postmaster Osorio will lead a dedicated workforce of 1,400 postal employees providing mail services to the borough’s 1.3 million residents.
Ms. Osorio began her postal career in the Bronx in 1978 as a Mail Processing Clerk and entered the management ranks as a Delivery Supervisor in January 1989. Postmaster Osorio has extensive postal operations and customer service experience at various levels of the organization. Ms. Osorio follows former Bronx Postmaster Tony Rosario, who recently retired.
Postmaster Osorio attended Franklin & Marshall College, holds a Certificate in Business Management from Mercy College, and is a graduate of the Postal Service’s Advanced Leadership Program. Currently, she is participating in the Postal Service’s Executive Development Program.
Ms. Osorio and her husband have one daughter and two granddaughters. In her spare time, Postmaster Osorio enjoys reading, camping with her entire family and the company of her two granddaughters.
