Post Offices adjusting retail hours
New York, New York — The Postal Service like other businesses has been impacted by the economy and as a result there has been a significant drop in customer usage at Post Offices. Accordingly, Post Office retail service hours are being adjusted at select New York Post Offices on April 18 and at the James A Farley Main Post Office on May 9 to match customer usage patterns.
Effective April 18, the new hours will be:

* Peck Slip has an Automated Postal Center with customer access from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Monday through Saturday. Automated Postal Centers are free standing kiosks that can handle most postal transactions including stamp sales and package acceptance.
Effective May 9, the new hours at the James A. Farley Main Post Office will be:

The James A Farley Main Post Office lobby will remain open 24/7 for access to the Automated Postal Centers and Post Office Boxes. Automated Postal Centers are free standing kiosks that can handle most postal transactions including stamp sales and package acceptance.
In addition to traditional brick-and-mortar Post Offices, customers can buy stamps by mail, by phone at 1-800-STAMP24, at a variety of local retailers and bank ATMs, and via the Postal Service’s USPS.com web site. The USPS.com web site also offers the ability to print mailing labels with or without postage, ship packages, schedule a package pick-up, and a host of other service options.
