Postal Service Seeks Reno Locations for Contract Postal Units

The U.S. Postal Service is seeking business owners interested in a unique income opportunity. The Postal Service is seeking to form partnerships with retailers interested in providing postal products and services to the community as a Contract Postal Unit.

"Contract Postal Units increase customer traffic, improve sales, create greater customer loyalty, and gives a significant competitive edge for participating retailers," said Reno Postmaster Doug Hval.

Business owners who agree to serve as Contract Postal Units get paid for offering the postal services and products. The more postal products and services sold, the more businesses will earn through the USPS percentage-based compensation plan.

"It's a win-win situation in which the retailer gets more people in their store and the Postal Service can provide services at a lower cost," said Hval.

Interested businesses must have at least a 12-foot-by-12-foot area to install the Contract Postal Unit. They cannot offer private mailbox services or competitive products. The businesses who participate must be handicapped-accessible, with handicapped parking spaces and a nearby wheelchair ramp.

More than 5,000 retailers have taken advantage of this opportunity, nationwide. Businesses interested in more information should contact Tena Maximoff, Customer Relations Coordinator at 775-786-3952.
