Reno Downtown station undergoes changes
Retail, PO Boxes stay the same, but carriers to operate out of different locations
The Reno Downtown Station, located at 50 S. Virginia, will no longer house the carriers that deliver to ZIP Codes 89501 and 89512. Carrier operations will move to other nearby locations—Washington Station and Sierra Station—effective October 10, 2009.
There will be no change to current Retail services, Post Office Boxes and Caller Services. Customers can still purchase stamps, send parcels, and have access to all other postal products and services at this location.
The move is to improve operational efficiency and to maximize facilities, transportation and fuel efficiency.
After Oct. 10, customers with street delivery in ZIP Codes 89501 and 89512 will need to go to a different Post Office to retrieve parcels or mail requiring a signature.
The new locations are as follows:
Pickup for Deliveries with ZIP Code 89501 will be moved to:
Washington Station
1490 Stardust St
Reno, NV 89503-4238
Hours: M-F, 8:30 – 5:00 p.m
Closed Sat, but dutch door available for parcel pickup 8:30 – 1:30
Telephone number: 775-747-3694
Pickup for Deliveries with ZIP code 89512 will be moved to:

The Reno Downtown Station was constructed first occupied June 1, 1936. The 42,000 Square Foot building is three stories high and sits on the Truckee River. It is also on the National Historic Register.
