Rancho de Taos Post Office burns

Temporary P.O. Box Mail Pick-Up Has Been Established at the Taos Carrier Annex

ALBUQUERQUE — U.S. Postal officials report that the Rancho de Taos Post Office at 4 San Francisco Road caught on fire late Thursday evening. There were no injuries and the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

“We are working quickly to re-establish services at the Taos Carrier Annex postal facility for customers who normally receive box mail at Rancho de Taos,” said USPS spokesperson Barbara Wood. “That facility will hold customer box mail as we determine a more permanent solution regarding the damage of our Post Office.”

The Taos Carrier Annex business hours are 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Retail services are available at the following locations: Taos Main Post Office at 318 Paseo Del Pueblo Norte business hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, or the Post Office Express located inside the Albertson's at 710 Paseo Del Pueblo Sur business hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday-Saturday or the El Prado post office at 1518 Paseo Del Pueblo Norte business hours are 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
