Contract awarded to build new Espanola Post Office

ESPANOLA, NM — The U.S. Postal Service has awarded a contract to Blue Sky Construction of Espanola, NM to build a new Espanola Post Office, Officer-in-Charge Jose Sanchez said today.  The architect for the project will be MPI Architects of Dallas, TX.

The new postal-owned building will have approximately 6,900 square feet of floor space, 1,154 square feet of exterior dock and will be located on a 164,394-square foot/acre track of land. The new facility will be located on Johnny A. Roybal Industrial Park Road, south of U.S. Highway 84.

The amount of the contract was $2,157,700, and the building is expected to be completed in early summer of 2009. It will offer 19 additional on site parking spaces.
