Manager Named For U.S. Postal Service's Albuquerque Mail Processing Plant

Carolyn Weisiger, 35-Year Postal Career Employee

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Carolyn Weisiger has been named by U.S. Postal Service Southwest Area Vice President Ellis Burgoyne to the executive position of Plant Manager for the Postal Service’s Albuquerque Processing and Distribution Center, located at 1135 Broadway Blvd NE. Weisiger has served as Albuquerque's acting Plant Manager since February. She replaces Garry Gilmore, who was promoted to Senior Plant Manager for the Postal Service’s Houston (TX) District.

In October 1972, Weisiger started her postal career as a clerk in Victoria, TX. Since that time, she has held increasingly responsible positions and detailed assignments in Postal Service Mail Processing and Customer Services managerial jobs in Texas and New Mexico. Prior to her assignment in Albuquerque as acting Plant Manager, she served as Postmaster of Fort Worth, TX

Weisiger is a graduate of the U.S. Postal Service’s Advanced Leadership Program (ALP) and the Processing Distribution Management (PDM) internal training programs for executive development. She attended Dallas Baptist University.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation — 146 million homes and businesses. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
