It’s a No-Brainer; Online Shipping Saves Money, Gas, and Time

Omaha Post Offices to Demonstrate Convenience of USPS.com

OMAHA, NE — What business or individual doesn’t enjoy saving time and money, especially in these tough economic times? Here are three opportunities. A postal employee will be in the lobby of two Omaha Post Offices to greet customers and demonstrate how they can buy stamps, ship packages, request a free package pickup, and order free shipping supplies, all from their computer at USPS.com.

“The Postal Service has more than 20 retail locations in the area, but it’s the one on your computer that is likely the most convenient, and the least expensive,” said Omaha Postmaster EvaJon Sperling. “USPS.com shipping prices are lower than if you were to come to the Post Office, and you can do it from the comfort of your home or business. When you also consider the time and gas savings, and speed of delivery - it’s a no-brainer.”

Activities scheduled as part of USPS.com Week, March 23 – 27:

March 25 – USPS.com Demonstrations at West Omaha Station, 8451 W. Center Rd., 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
March 26 – USPS.com Presentation at Omaha Business Center, 5303 N. 91st Ave., 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
March 27 – USPS.com Demonstrations at Omaha Postal Impressions, 5346 S. 136th St., 10 a.m. – 1 p.m

Virtually all of the services of a Post Office are available at USPS.com. Take advantage of online mailing discounts of up to 11 percent using Click-N-Ship where you can print Express Mail, Priority Mail and International shipping labels and pay for postage using any major credit card. Up to $500 of insurance is available, and customers can request a free pickup of those packages by their letter carrier the next day. Delivery Confirmation, a 65-cent value, is free when using Click-N-Ship.

The Postal Service offers four sizes of free eco-friendly flat-rate boxes that take the weight and distance out of mailing. The flat-rate boxes are available at any Post Office, by phone at 1-800-527-1950, and online at usps.com/shop. At USPS.com customers can also buy stamps, track a package, hold mail, submit a change of address, find a ZIP Code, and much more.
