Automated Postal Centers at Fargo Post Offices
Postal Service Offers Quick, Easy Alternative to the Retail Counter
FARGO, ND — Waiting in line seems to be a way of life. But at the Fargo Main Post Office, 657 2nd Ave. N. and Prairiewood Station, 1455 32nd St. S., customers have a quick, easy and convenient option to avoid waiting in line at the retail counter.
At the Automated Postal Centers (APCs) in the Post Office lobbies, customers can buy stamps, look up ZIP Codes, weigh and mail packages and conduct other postal business. Just as an ATM is a virtual stand-alone bank, APCs are virtual stand-alone Post Offices.
The APCs also offer 24-hour access every day of the year. With time short and schedules overbooked, that’s a huge plus.
“Whether you’re a small-business owner, heading a home-based business or just a busy consumer looking to save a few minutes, Automated Postal Centers are one more way the Postal Service is responding to the needs of our customers,” said customer relations coordinator Laurine Roehrich.
The APC takes most credit cards and is easy to use through a series of prompts. The Main Post office will offer demonstrations of the APC on Tuesday, Sept. 9 from 1-5 p.m.
“If you can read the screen and touch the screen, you can use it,” Roehrich added. “Some people are afraid to use it at first, but we’re happy to give a quick lesson. Customers try it once and find that they love the ease and convenience.”
