Post Office kicks off annual Food Drive Wednesday

WHAT:
The National Association of Letter Carriers in Raleigh and Durham and the U.S. Postal Service will kick off its 16th Annual National Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive today at Raleigh-Creekside Post Office.

WHO:
Postmasters Howard Sample (Raleigh) and Chris Tinkham (Durham) will be on hand with Peter Werbicki, President/CEO, Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC; Eddie Davidson, NALC State President; Joni Craven-Jeffries, Executive Director, Homework Haven; and supporters and representatives from local postal employee organizations and businesses to launch the annual campaign to collect food from postal customers throughout the Triangle area. The Food Drive will take place on Saturday, May 10.

TAKE NOTE:
The Annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive benefits local organizations and food pantries in the cities of Raleigh and Durham.

Among the national and local sponsors for the campaign are Campbell’s Soup, Val-Pak, the American Postal Workers Union, the National Rural Letter Carriers and the United Way.
