Post Office kicks off annual Food Drive tonight

WHAT: The National Association of Letter Carriers and the U.S. Postal Service will kick off its 16th Annual National Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive tonight at the Greensboro Children’s Museum. Children are admitted free with five canned goods.

WHO: Greensboro Postmaster Jim Tarter, officials from Greensboro Branch 630 of the NALC and other sponsors and supporters will be on hand to launch the annual campaign to collect food from postal customers throughout the Greensboro area. The Food Drive will take place on Saturday, May 10.

TAKE NOTE: The Annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive benefits local organizations like the Salvation Army and the Urban Ministries of Greensboro. Among the national and local sponsors for the campaign are Campbell’s Soup, Hanes Lineberry Funeral Homes, the American Postal Workers Union, WQMG-FM 97.1 Radio and the United Way.
