Log On to USPS.com and Skip the Trip

March 17 event in Clayton demonstrates Postal Service’s online convenience

CLAYTON, NC — The convenience of the Internet is one reason the U.S. Postal Service is encouraging customers to “skip the trip” to the Post Office next week.

The Postal Service will host Customer Appreciation Day and “USPS.com Week” at Clayton Post Office, 604 E. Front Street on Monday, March 17 from 10 am – 1 pm to let consumers know of the quick, easy, convenient way to do business online at USPS.com. The Postal Service’s website offers nearly three dozen services and products to the 1 million customers who visit the site each day.

“Almost anything you can do at a Post Office, you can do online at USPS.com,” said Lois Barbour, Officer-in-Charge, Clayton Post Office. “While we welcome customers and business to the Post Office, we also understand that our customers are busy. With a few clicks of the mouse, you can buy postage, order supplies, ship and track packages and manage your mail.”

Free demonstrations for business and regular customers will be provided by Small Business Specialist Antonio McCoy during this event. Light refreshments will be served. For more information, contact Lois Barbour, 919-553-1867

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation — 146 million homes and businesses. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
