New Contract Postal Unit Opens In Charlotte

Grand Opening Ceremony Will Be Held On Tuesday, February 12

CHARLOTTE, NC —A new Contract Postal Unit (CPU) in Charlotte will provide Postal Service products and services to the community. A Grand Opening ceremony will be held on Tuesday, February 12 at 1:00 p.m.

The new contract postal outlet is located in the Guardian Angel Store at 2305 Westinghouse Blvd. in Charlotte, near the intersection of Highway 49 S (South Tryon Street) and Westinghouse Blvd.

Customers can purchase stamps, mail letters and packages, and purchase nearly all mailing services — including both domestic and international — at the same prices available at Post Offices. The only services not available at the CPU are money orders, Post Office Box rentals and Global Express Guaranteed services.

Hours of operation at the new retail postal location are Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The community is invited to attend the Grand Opening ceremony. Light refreshments will be served.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation — 146 million homes and businesses. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
