
Post Office event turns Fremont into
“little Mayberry” Tuesday
WHAT:
The U.S. Postal Service welcomes TV characters Barney Fife, Ernest T. Bass and the Mayberry Squad Car, all from the Andy Griffith Show, to Fremont Post Office as it celebrates the issuance of its newest commemorative postage stamps, Early TV Memories, paying tribute to 20 great shows from TV’s golden age of the 1950s.

Fremont Postmaster Myra Lynn hosts “Old Fashioned Day” as local residents convert their town into the mythical Mayberry RFD.

TAKE NOTE:
The new stamps recognize such shows as I Love Lucy; Lassie; The Lone Ranger; Texaco Star Theater; and 16 more classic shows. The stamps become available nationwide on the same day. This event is free and open to the public.
