Reidsville Post Office honors 3 Thursday
HONORED: At Reidsville Post Office (l-r), retired rural letter carrier Randy French, city letter carrier Alvino Wilson, Postmaster Karen Hodges and clerk Rose Creed celebrate excellence in safety for over 30 years.
REIDSVILLE — On Thursday, Reidsville Post Office and Postmaster Karen Hodges paid tribute to three long-time employees with special recognition for their safety performance; all three employees completed at least 30 years of service without being involved in any kind of accident.
Two employees, retired rural letter carrier Randy French and city letter carrier Alvino Wilson, were inducted into the National Safety Council’s coveted Million Mile Club, which recognizes drivers who have gone at least 30 years without a preventable motor vehicle accident. A third employee, clerk Rose Creed, was also recognized for working accident-free during her 30+ years. Each employee received a handsome plaque and pins for their accomplishments. The Million Mile Club is the highest honor given to a professional driver in the workplace by the National Safety Council, and according to the NSC, the status is to professional driving as reaching the peak of Mt. Everest is to the sport of climbing. “It is wonderful to have an employee in each of the crafts with this level of dedication and excellence in performance,” said Hodges.
