Reidsville Post Office honors 3 Thursday
REIDSVILLE — The U.S. Postal Service will honor three of its employees Thursday for milestone safety achievements. Two letter carriers, Randy French and Alvino Wilson, will be inducted into the National Safety Council’s coveted Million Mile Club, which recognizes drivers who have gone at least 30 years without a preventable motor vehicle accident. A third employee, clerk Rose Creed, will also be recognized for working accident-free for 30 years. The short recognition ceremony will take place Thursday, June 4, 9:30 am at Reidsville Post Office, 201 Piedmont Street.
The Million Mile Club is the highest honor given to a professional driver in the workplace by the National Safety Council, and according to the NSC, the status is to professional driving as reaching the peak of Mt. Everest is to the sport of climbing. All three employees, who are Reidsville residents, have actually gone their entire careers without being involved in an accident of any type – non-preventable, industrial, or otherwise. “It is wonderful to have an employee in each of the crafts with this level of dedication and excellence in performance,” said Karen Hodges, Reidsville Postmaster.
