Postal Customers in the Mid-Carolinas District Receive Top Service
CHARLOTTE, NC — The U.S. Postal Service has released the latest national on-time performance scores for the delivery of First-Class Mail. The Mid-Carolinas District exceeded national scores.
The national FY09 second quarter results for Single-Piece on-time mail delivery were 96 percent for overnight, 93 percent for two-day and 91 percent for three- to five-day.
Scores for the Mid-Carolinas District were 97 percent for overnight, 95 percent for two-day and 93 percent for three- to five-day.
The second quarter covers January, February and March 2009.
The Mid-Carolinas District provides service to customers whose ZIP Codes begin with the following first three digits: 280 through 285, 287 through 289 and 297.
“These successful delivery scores are a direct result of postal employees’ efforts in providing our customers with the best service possible,” said Mid-Carolinas District Manager David C. Fields, Sr. “We continue to anticipate our customers’ shipping and mailing needs and we strive to exceed them.”
Since 1990 the U. S. Postal Service has contracted with an independent agency to objectively measure First-Class Mail service performance. IBM Global Business Services reviews and measures the delivery performance of First-Class Mail from the time it is deposited into a collection box or lobby mail chute until it is delivered to a home or business.
