All Mississippi Post Offices Back Open

Many Sites Continue Operations Despite Loss Of Power

JACKSON, MS — All Post Offices in the Mississippi District are open for business today.  However, many are operating either by generator power or without electricity at all.  The Post Offices listed below have limited or no power:

Regular mail delivery is also under way.  However, customers are reminded that delivery may not be made to any area which has restricted access or may pose a hazard to the safety of the delivering employee(s).  Customers are encouraged to contact their local Post Office for more information.

Evacuees from Hurricane Gustav who are temporarily displaced to Mississippi may go online to usps.com or call 1-800-ASK-USPS (275-8777) for information and assistance regarding the mail delivery for their home address.
