Area Residents Traveling to KC Sportshow Can Apply for Passports

Post Office to Offer Convenient Passport Application Process Each Day at Annual Bartle Hall Event

Kansas City, Mo. – New passport laws that went into effect nearly two years ago require all Americans and foreign nationals to have passports when traveling by air, and when traveling to or from the U.S. and nearby countries, such as Canada and Mexico, the Americas, and Caribbean destinations. So, to help make the passport application process more convenient, the Kansas City, MO Post Office will deliver a special Passport Application Booth, beginning Wednesday, January, 7 through Sunday, January 11 at the 55th Annual Kansas City Sportshow, in the Travel/Resort Area, Booth 552, at Bartle Hall.

Post Office Passport Booth Hours:
Wednesday, January 7th – 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Thursday and Friday, January 8th and 9th – 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday, January 10th – 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Sunday, January 11th – 12 noon to 4 p.m.

Many larger U.S. Post Offices regularly offer passport application service. Travelers can locate the nearest Post Office that offers passport applications by calling 1-800-ASK-USPS (1-800-275-8777) or go to www.usps.com/passport. Customers can also save time by downloading and completing their passport application forms before going to a participating Post Office. An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation — 146 million homes and businesses. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
