Senators and Congressmen to Honor First Woman Elected to State Office in Missouri

Background:
Congressman Russ Carnahan introduced legislation on March 21, 2007 to designate the Post Office located at 561 Kingsland Ave. in University City as the Harriett F. Woods Post Office Building.
Congressman William Lacy Clay co-sponsored the House Resolution and Senators Kit Bond and Claire McCaskill assisted with the passage of the legislation in the Senate. The legislation was signed into Public Law by President Bush on August 9, 2007.
