Mailing Options During the Holiday Rush

Access is Easy When Time is Short

Annapolis, MD — The United States Postal Service is ready to deliver the holidays for you. “Mailing your holiday cards and gifts has never been easier,” says Annapolis Postmaster George Olsen.

”The Post Office comes to you this holiday season. You can request a free package pickup on usps.com, print labels and pay for postage, and even order holiday stamps, and packaging supplies,” says Olsen.

“We’re open longer hours at the Eastport Post Office to help harried shoppers get their holiday gifts mailed on time,” says Olsen. The Eastport Post office located at 821 Chesapeake Avenue will be open Saturday, December 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 14, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. this holiday season.

“We know harried shoppers don’t always have time to drop off their cards and packages or buy stamps at the Post Office,” Olsen says. “That’s why it helps to know other places and ways everyone can access our mailing services when they run short on time.”

Click-N-Ship
“You can do all of your holiday mailing online at usps.com without leaving your home,” says Olsen. “We save you money as well as gas. You can print postage and mailing labels from your computer using Click-N-Ship. Price reductions are available on Priority Mail and Express Mail when you ship online. The more you ship, the more you save, and free Delivery Confirmation is included. Plus, we offer free carrier pickup, so you can save time and money.”

Automated Postal Centers (APCs)
APCs are self-service kiosks that can provide 80 percent of the transactions available at the window counter. APCs do transactions in English or Spanish and accept major credit and debit cards.

APCs dispense First-Class Mail, Priority Mail, Parcel Post, and Express Mail postage in any denomination; provide mailing information, including ZIP Code lookup; weigh and price envelopes and parcels; prepare Express Mail forms and Certified Mail return receipts; and offer Delivery Confirmation service.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation — 146 million homes and businesses. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
