Post Office Observes Independence Day Holiday

BALTIMORE, MD — All post offices in the Baltimore District will be closed in observance of Independence Day, Friday, July 4, 2008. Delivery of mail is limited to Express Mail in the major metropolitan area.

Customers who wish to purchase stamps and our many other products and services may use any of the Automated Postal Centers (APC) located at the 24-hour locations listed below. The APC does everything short of face-to-face transactions, including dispensing stamps, weighing packages and calculating postage for Express Mail, Priority Mail, and First-Class Mail. Remember, all APC’s take debit and credit cards only!

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation — 146 million homes and businesses. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
