Columbia Post Office to host Customer Appreciation Day

“The Postal Service on the Fast Track”

COLUMBIA, MD —The Columbia Post Office, 6801 Oak Hall Lane, will host a Customer Appreciation Day on Tuesday, October 23, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the postal lobby. This day is being set aside for postal employees to show their appreciation to customers who do business with the Postal Service.

Customers will have the opportunity to meet with the local Postal Inspector and learn how to recognize and avoid potential mail fraud scams. Also on site will be Margaret Williams, Small Business Specialist for the postal service. She will be available to answer questions and provide information on postal products and services, such as “Click-N-Ship” and the usps.com website. Highlighting the event will be the Post Office’s Automated Postal Center (APC). The Automated Postal Center (APC) is a self-service kiosk that allows customers to ship packages, mail letters and buy stamps.

Light refreshments and giveaways will also be provided.  “This is a wonderful opportunity to show our customers just how much we appreciate them,” said Postmaster Marguerite Bradley.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation, 146 million homes and businesses, six days a week. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
