Postmaster of Baltimore Takes Oath of Office

Installation Ceremony For William L. Ridenour

BALTIMORE, MD — Postmaster General Jack Potter will oversee the Oath of Office on Thursday, October 4, as William L. Ridenour becomes the 39th Postmaster of Baltimore, Maryland.

The ceremony, to take place at the War Memorial Building, 101 North Gay Street, will include the taking of the oath as well as featured remarks by a number of Postal executives and congressional representatives.

As the new Postmaster of the Baltimore, Ridenour oversees postal operations at the Main Post Office and 30 stations and branches with a work force of 2200 employees.

Prior to his appointment, Ridenour served as Postmaster of Alexandra, Virginia. He began his career in September 20, 1980 as a City Carrier in Baltimore. He has held a number of management positions including; Supervisor Delivery and Collections, Delivery Analyst, Superintendent of Collections, Manager of Catonsville Branch of the Baltimore Post Office and Postmaster at Aberdeen and Pasadena, Maryland and Manager Post Office Operations for the 210-211 area of the Baltimore District.

Ridenour replaces Carlton “Mike” Harlow, who is now Baltimore District Manager.
