Baltimore Periodical Technician wins Benjamin Franklin Award
Christine Davis, Bulk Mail Entry Unit Periodical Technician in Baltimore, MD, was selected as the state winner of the 9th annual Benjamin Franklin Community Newspaper and Postal Partnership Award of Excellence.
The award was presented to Davis by Circulation Marketing Manager Tracy Bumba of the Daily Record Newspaper. Daily Record President, Publisher Christopher Eddings who nominated Davis for the award said, “Christine is an exceptional person and is appreciated by all of us at the Daily Record. She makes our trip to the Post Office valuable and is very helpful.”
The award is presented to the Postal Service employee who best personified the spirit of Benjamin Franklin, the nation’s first postmaster general. Franklin believed delivering newspapers through the mail was a critical link in the communication chain that helped citizens of the new nation come together.
“This is a wonderful honor and I’m very excited and a little humbled to receive this award. I have an excellent working relationship with the people at the Daily Record. They are a great group of people and they make working with them easy,” said Davis.
