U.S. Postal Service seeks location for Contract Postal Unit
LYNN—The U.S. Postal Service is seeking to form a partnership with a retailer in the West Lynn section of Lynn that is interested in providing postal products and services to better serve the community.
“As a member of the business community, you can take advantage of a unique income opportunity,” said Jackie Verheyen, retail specialist for the Massachusetts Postal District, adding: “This partnership will help your market share, help increase your traffic, and provide added value for your customers.”
Criteria for partnership include:
- Approximately 10 x 15 square feet available within your business.
- No private mailbox service or competitive products and services offered.
- Handicap accessibility—parking and ramp access nearby.
She said the retailer will provide the space, purchase their own stamps and meter postage and operate the postal store. “The more postal products and services you sell, the more you earn through our percentage-based compensation plan,” she said.
She said managers of contract postal units (CPUs) “tell us that many customers who come into their business to purchase stamps and mail packages often purchase other items offered in their stores. You will benefit from increased business sales and new business customers.
Persons seeking more information on contract postal units can call Retail Specialist Verheyen at (978) 664-7725.
