NANCY KOBJACK, center, a sales and service associate (SSA) in Holyoke Post Office, was recognized by the Massachusetts Postal District for her contributions as a classroom instructor and retail coach for the Sales and Service Associate Academy in Amherst. Sarah A. Murray, human resources specialist, and Holyoke Postmaster Wayne P. Desroches presented her with a letter signed by Marcia Condon, district training manager, stating, in part: “The training you provide is the foundation from which our new SSAs build their skills. This foundation allows our newly appointed SSAs the opportunity to begin their jobs with the knowledge, customer service skills, and pride in their job which is fundamental to the future success of the United States Postal Service.”

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation — 146 million homes and businesses. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
