BIRTHPLACE TRIBUTE—The City of Lowell paid tribute to her famous daughter, Bette Davis, when city and federal officials unveiled the U.S. Postal Service’s 14th Legends of Hollywood commemorative postage stamp—Bette Davis, a Lowell native, Friday, Sept. 19, in the Paul Tsongas Arena. Taking part in the ceremony were, from left, Rita Mercier, vice mayor of the city; Lowell Postmaster Peter J. Golden and U.S. Rep. Niki Tsongas.
