Adams Post Office delivers perfect service

Wilfred C. “Willie” Parmenter and John W. “Mike” Powers III

ADAMS POST OFFICE was presented with a plaque for achieving 100 percent in EXFC (External First-Class Measurement), an independent system for testing service performance from a customer perspective during Postal Quarter 2 in Fiscal Year 2008. Massachusetts Postal District Manager John W. “Mike” Powers III, right, made the presentation to Postmaster Wilfred C. “Willie” Parmenter when nearly 100 senior postal leaders from the western Massachusetts met for a quarterly meeting June 27, in Springfield’s Main Street Station.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation — 146 million homes and businesses. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
