Massachusetts District supports its employee/soldiers

John W. “Mike” Powers III and Earl Monett

TROOP SUPPORT—The Massachusetts Postal District showed its support for employees who are active members of the National Guard and Reserve during a meeting for western Massachusetts senior postal leaders Friday, June 27, in Springfield’s Main Street Station. During the special program, District Manager John W. “Mike” Powers III, left, presented specially-designed ESGR logo stamps to Earl Monett, of Springfield, ombudsman director of the Massachusetts Committee for the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). Nearly 100 senior postal leaders were present for the ceremony to thank the postal employee/soldiers for their service to our country and to show support for them.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation — 146 million homes and businesses. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
