USPS T-shirt campaign promotes free package pick up by letter carriers

Letter Carrier Ben Poto and customer Craig Rinaldi

IT PAYS TO ADVERTISE—Letter carriers in Wakefield Post Office are taking part in a special campaign to advertise free carrier pick up of packages. They will be wearing “I pick up your packages for free” T-shirts for six consecutive Wednesdays to promote the Postal Service’s free carrier pick up service. Here, Letter Carrier Ben Poto collects packages from customer Craig Rinaldi, manager of Parts 4 Heating, 209 Water St., Wakefield, on the first day of the promotion, Wednesday, June 25.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation — 146 million homes and businesses. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
