Topeka Postmaster B. Steven Pinkerton announced today that a special postmark will be offered to commemorate the newly released "Star Wars" stamps.
The special postmark will be available at the Main Post Office, 424 S Kansas Ave., from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, June 2, 2007. Star Wars Characters will be on site for the event.
Customers have 30 days to obtain the postmark by mail. All requests must include a stamped envelope or postcard bearing at least the minimum first-class postage per envelope or per postcard.
Customers wishing to obtain a postmark should affix stamps to envelopes or postcards of choice, address the envelope or postcard to themselves or others, insert a card of postcard thickness, tuck in the flap, and place the envelopes in a larger envelope and address it to the following:

After applying the special postmark, the Postal Service returns the envelopes through the mail. Customers who want their item returned under protected cover should include a larger, stamped, self-addressed envelope.
There is no charge for the cancellation. All orders must be postmarked by July 02, 2007.
