Following Devastating Tornado Greensburg Residents can Pick up Their Mail and Find Retail Services at Pratt Post Office

The tornado that devastated the community of Greensburg, Kan., also destroyed the Greensburg Post Office. Customers served by the Greensburg Post Office can pick up their mail and obtain retail services at the Pratt Post Office, 202 E. 3rd St. Hours for the Pratt Post Office are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday. The office will be open for mail pick up services only from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., on Saturdays.

The Greensburg Post Office provides mail service for more than 1,200 customers through Post Office boxes, city, and rural deliveries. The rural route carrier who serves the Greenburg area will be making deliveries today wherever it is safe and possible to do so. Those customers the rural route carrier is unable to reach will need to pick up their mail from the Pratt Post Office.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits 146 million homes and businesses, six days a week. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to cover its operating expenses. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $73 billion and delivers nearly half the world's mail volume.
