All Post Offices Open on July 3

But Many Closing at Noon

WICHITA, Kan.—All Post Offices in Kansas will be open for business on Friday, July 3, but many will shorten retail lobby hours in advance of the holiday weekend. Revised retail hours will be posted at each Post Office. Regular mail delivery for July 3 will be unaffected by the change.

In the city of Wichita, the following postal locations will reduce retail lobby hours on July 3:

  • North Station at 2325 N. Arkansas will close at noon
  • Munger Station at 1314 N. Oliver will close at 1 p.m.
  • River City at 3241 S. Hydraulic will close at 1 p.m.
  • General Mail Facility Window Services at 7117 W. Harry will close at 6 p.m.

Customers may call 1-800-ASK-USPS for information about specific Post Offices. Commercial customers are asked to check with their Bulk Mail Acceptance Unit for July 3 hours of operation. Wichita customers requiring postal services later in the day on July 3 can visit one of the Contract Postal Units across the city that are located within partnering businesses, use the many on-line services at usps.com, or visit one of the following Wichita postal retail locations with regular hours on July 3:

  • Chisholm Station at 2510 S. Elizabeth
  • Downtown Station at 330 W. 2nd St.
  • Corporate Hills Station at 9350 E. Corporate Hills Dr

Collection boxes throughout the Wichita area will have a last pickup time of noon on Friday, July 3. Established business and firm collections will follow normal schedules if the customer(s) will be open during normal business hours on July 3.

All Post Offices will be closed Saturday, July 4. Express Mail delivery will be attempted on July 4 and July 5 for those pieces that arrive and contain Sunday/Holiday guarantees. All Post Offices will be open and regular mail delivery will resume on Monday, July 6.
