Postal Service Ready for Christmas Day Delivery

Sending Packages Express Mail Assures On Time Arrival

INDIANAPOLIS, IN —While many Americans will be spending this weekend finishing last minute holiday errands, the elves at the Postal Service will be busy making deliveries, including Christmas Day.

“Only Santa and the Postal Service will cheerfully deliver those last-minute, must-haves packages to family, friends and acquaintances,” said Al Eakle, a spokesman for the Greater Indiana District of the U.S. Postal Service.

And there’s no cost extra for Christmas Day delivery when using Express Mail by the Postal Service. Just one fixed fee to major markets in the United States — guaranteed — if customers drop off or have their packages picked up by Saturday, Dec. 22.

“Express Mail is the only overnight service that delivers 365 days a year,” Eakle said. “Other companies might say they deliver but not with a guarantee and not with the bargain, flat-fee the Postal Service offers on Express Mail.”

USPS Express Mail has no hidden fees or surcharges.

“Customers get free insurance for up to $100 against loss or damage,” Eakle said. “We even provide signature proof of delivery upon request plus tracking information.”

Postal Service packaging is environmentally-friendly and free. Customers can even do it from the privacy of their own home by going to www.USPS.com to schedule a free pick up.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation, 146 million homes and businesses, six days a week. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
