Create Your Own Holiday Cards and Postage – Free Demonstrations

Today’s Holidays Need Today’s Mail

FORT WAYNE, IN — When you want to express the very best for the holiday, send your personal best. Last year’s favorite holiday photograph can be this year’s cherished memory in the form of a personalized holiday card and postage. And the best thing about it is you can do it from home, and we’ll show you how.

The U.S. Postal Service has made celebrating the holidays more personal by making it as easy and fun as baking holiday cookies.

CardStore (usps.com/cardstore) allows customers to create greeting cards, and even add a gift card from one of 20 national retail outlets. Customers can use personal photos or choose from more than 50 card designs, including traditional, religious, multi-cultural and non-denominational images and greetings.

“With a little creativity, today’s holidays can be in today’s mail in a very personal way,” said Fort Wayne Postmaster Dawn Gerardot.  “Create your own holiday cards and make them stand out from the rest with individuality, including a gift and your personalized postage.”

And if Grandma loved last year’s family photo, she’ll love it even more when it adorns the outside of an envelope. Customized postage lets customers personalize postage with pictures or images using Customized PC Postage technology. A favorite family memory, a formal wedding portrait, an attempt at baking holiday cookies, even Santa sneaking down the chimney can help make a card or letter that much more personal. Customized postage has two parts: a customer-supplied image and a high-tech, secure barcode. All customized postage is compatible with the Postal Services’ automated mail processing systems. It can be used on First-Class Mail, Priority Mail and Express Mail for personal and commercial use.

Postal representatives will provide free demonstrations on creating customized cards and postage at the Post Offices listed below:

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation, 146 million homes and businesses, six days a week. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
