Chicago Post Offices Open until Noon on Christmas/New Year’s Eve

CORRECTION: Final Collection Pick-Up Times Moved to Noon Christmas Eve

CHICAGO – All Chicago Post Office stations and branches will be open until 12 noon on Christmas Eve, Wednesday, December 24, and New Year’s Eve, Wednesday, December 31. 

Mail will be picked up from street collection boxes until 12 noon on Christmas Eve, and on each box’s regular schedule New Year’s Eve.  

The Cardiss Collins Postal Store, 433 W. Harrison Street, will be open until 5 pm on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve for last-minute holiday mailing needs.

All postal retail facilities will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, and reopen at their regular times Friday, December 26 and Friday, January 2 (the Cardiss Collins Postal Store will reopen at 7 a.m. on December 26 and January 2).

Letter carriers will make their regular deliveries on all routes on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.  All available Express Mail, Priority Mail and holiday packages will be delivered on Christmas Day, and all available Express Mail will be delivered on New Year’s Day.
