Holiday Mailing Season Kickoff at the Chicago Main Post Office

What:
Holiday Mailing Season Kickoff with special stamp dedication of the new holiday Nutcracker Stamps. Santa will make a special appearance and will be joined by children dressed as sugar plum fairies and nutcrackers participating in the festivities. Central Carrier Annex letter carrier Hardy Lutcher will deliver a super-sized greeting card (44” x 34”) to Santa during the opening ceremony.

Background:
The Postal Service will kickoff the holiday mailing season with a special stamp dedication of the new holiday Nutcracker stamps at 10 a.m. and usps.com and Automated Postal Center (APC) demonstrations by Santa himself throughout the day. Santa’s elves will be on hand to gift wrap Express Mail packages for customers looking to expedite their holiday gifts to their family, friends and loved ones.

Santa will also be on hand to greet customers wishing to respond to one of the thousands of letters written each year to Santa, c/o of the Chicago Post Office. Guidelines for selecting a letter to respond to include photo identification and the completion of an Agreement for Acceptance of Letters.

Nutcracker stamp lapel pins will be given to all guests while supplies last.
