CHICAGO, IL — The new Lake Park Postal Store, located at 1510 E. 55th St., officially opened for   business Saturday, November 15.  It replaces the retail unit that was housed in the basement of the former Food Co-op in the Hyde Park Shopping Plaza.

The Lake Park Postal Store is open from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.

“We are very excited about providing this more convenient, dedicated space for our customers,” said Jacquelyn Greco, Henry McGee Station manager.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation — 146 million homes and businesses. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
