ANAHEIM, CA — The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) today recognized Segerdahl Group with its Corporate Business Achievement Award for the company’s commitment to a successful business partnership with the Postal Service. At each National Postal Forum, a select group of Postal customers is acknowledged and recognized for their contributions to the continued success of the mailing industry.

Segerdahl developed a mechanism to help their customers reduce the financial impact of the 2007 U. S. Postal Service price change and its emphasis on shape. They developed a creative and educational mail piece used as a lead generation so when customers responded, follow up would be done by their sales person to arrange a customer visit with an automation design kit. The lead tag line on the mail piece was appropriately titled SIZE DOES MATTER!

This effort created an overwhelming 83% response from Segerdahl’s customers allowing new direct mail opportunities, completely automation compatible, and a win-win-win for the customers, Segerdahl, and U.S. Postal Service. The result was a steady volume increase since the implementation of the May 2007 pricing adjustment through November of 2007 (last month reported) the monthly increase had reached 50,000,000 pieces in November alone.

“I congratulate Segerdahl Group for having recognized the vital importance of innovation, teamwork, communications and customer satisfaction using the mail,” said Susan Plonkey, Vice President, Customer Service.

Segerdahl Group in Wheeling, Illinois, is an ISO 9001 certified U.S. Postal Service Business Partner with a 50 year history of focusing on emerging technologies. As one of the leading cutting-edge commercial printing facilities in the country, Segerdahl helps customers increase target audience interest and response.

The Corporate Business Achievement Award, one of three “best in class” awards presented annually at the Forum, recognizes Segerdahl Graphics business partnership with the U.S. Postal Service and commitment to using postal products and services to strengthen and grow its business.

The National Postal Forum is the mailing industry’s premier trade show and event. More than 7,000 industry professionals attend the four-day conference that features 140 workshops and special sessions, four symposiums and 13 professional certificate programs.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation — 146 million homes and businesses. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
