Cherry Valley Post Office Temporarily Closed For Remodeling

Trailer In Parking Lot Will Provide Services Beginning Jan 7

CHERRY VALLEY, IL — The good news is that the Cherry Valley Post Office, 210 E. State Street, is being completely remodeled for the benefit of customers and employees. The not so good news is that during the renovation, starting January 7, 2008 through approximately March 15, 2008, the facility will be closed and a temporary trailer placed in the parking lot will provide retail and P.O. Box operations.

The four Rural Carriers from the Cherry Valley Post Office will case and deliver mail from the Rockford main Post Office, 5225 Harrison Avenue, until the renovation is complete.  Cherry Valley customers should continue to go to the 210 E. State Street, Cherry Valley, IL 61016 location to retrieve any items or carrier notices.

“We are looking forward to getting back in the building in March or early spring,” said Postmaster Janis Adams. “But first we have to endure the winter of renovation.”

During the renovation phase, the Cherry Valley Post Office will have new retail service hours open Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (open continuously, no closing for lunch) and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The normal retail hours of Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (closed 10 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. for lunch) and Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. are expected to resume when the renovation is complete.

“We thank you for your understanding during the renovation and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,” said Adams.
