Chicago Aldermen to Help Deliver Mail December 19

Walking a Route, Spreading Holiday Cheer on Busiest Delivery Day

WHAT:  
Four Chicago Aldermen and one aide will accompany Chicago letter carriers in their respective wards on their delivery routes.  Three other aldermen will visit carriers at their respective stations

Ald.  Ed Smith, 28th Ward

WHEN :  
Wednesday, December 19, approx. 7-11 a.m.

BACKGROUND:
Several Chicago Aldermen will get an up-close-and-personal look at mail service in their wards, on the busiest delivery day of the holiday mailing season.  Four Aldermen and one aide will become carriers-for-a-day, joining letter carriers serving their wards in preparing the day’s deliveries and walking part of their delivery routes.  Three other Aldermen will visit carriers at the delivery offices.

The following aldermen will be participating at the listed Chicago stations:
Ald. Fioretti – visiting Chicago Central Carrier Annex, 358 W. Harrison St.
Ald. Balcer – visiting 22nd St , 2035 S. State St.
Ald. Folkes – walking w/carrier from SW Carrier Annex, 4301 W. 69th St.
Ald. Thompson – walking w/carrier from Stockyards, 4101 S. Halsted St.
Ald. Smith – walking w/carrier from Mary Alice Henry, 4222 W. Madison St.
Ald. Rebroyas– walking w/carrier from Irving Park, 3319 N. Cicero St.
Ald. Reilly chief of staff - walking w/carrier from Ft Dearborn, 540 N. Dearborn St.
Ald. Daley – visiting Lincoln Park Carrier Annex, 2643 N. Clark St.
