Post Office Offers Sunday Hours For Holiday Season

Passport Fair included at Park Branch location

ROCKFORD, IL — The Rockford Post Office is giving you something you can really use. More time. "To help ease the holiday rush, both the Main Post Office and the Park Branch will be open this Sunday and next Sunday," says Rockford Postmaster Ronald A. Calloway.

Sunday retail hours on December 9 and December 16, 2007 are:
Main Post Office, 5225 Harrison Ave, 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Park Branch, 1702 Windsor Rd, 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Passport Fairs will also be held Sunday December 9 and Sunday December 16, 2007 at the Park Branch, 1702 Windsor Rd, Loves Park IL from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Items to obtain a passport are:
Proof of American citizenship – a certified birth certificate issued by the city, county or state (hospital issued not acceptable), a previous US passport, certificate of citizenship or naturalization certificate.
Proof of Identity:  a valid U.S. passport, current driver’s license (with photo), state photo ID, Government photo ID or military photo ID.
Passport photos:  may be taken on site for a $15.00 fee.
Check, cash, and debit cards accepted:  If payment is by check, two checks are needed.

Postmaster Calloway also reminds customers that both the Main Post Office and Park Branch have Automated Postal Centers (APC) available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. “Customers using credit and debit cards can use the convenient APC to mail packages, purchase stamps and look up ZIP Codes”, stated Calloway.

Other convenient service options are available such as Stamps By Mail, Stamps-By-Phone 1-800-STAMP24 and www.usps.com.
