Storm Closes Haleiwa, Waialua and Waianae Post Offices

No Customer Service for Wednesday, Dec. 5

Honolulu — The Haleiwa (96712), Waialua (96791) and Waianae (96792) Post Offices will be closed today due to lack of power and localized flooding and/or other access issues caused by the high winds and heavy rain produced by Wednesday’s early morning storm. There will be no mail deliveries, no retail service and no PO Box service at these locations.

Postal officials will make every effort to restore service at those three Post Offices as soon as power is restored and adjacent roads are cleared.

Some other Post Offices may experience some impact to their customer service operations, although these impacts should be of short duration and relatively minimal.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation, 146 million homes and businesses, six days a week. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. The Postal Service has annual revenues of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
